Liturgical Term of the Day-Amen

Amen is a Hebrew term that means “so be it,” and is used at the end of a prayer or proclamations. It doesn’t express merely our agreement with the content of the acclamation, but expresses our personal and communal commitment to the truths expressed, and our surrender to live and apply them in our lives. Other Hebrew terms that survive in our liturgy include Hosanna and Hallelujah.
